Mortar Industry Association appoints new chairman

Managing director of Remix Dry Mortar Ltd, Dave Rawson, has been appointed chairman of the Mortar Industry Association following the resignation of Fergus Malone, managing director of CPI Euromix.

‘I would like to thank Fergus for all his hard work in taking the Association forward during his period of office. I take over as chairman of the MIA at a particularly challenging time as the construction industry demonstrates some uncertainty in the coming year.

The MIA members have reached a point where we supply almost 80% of the mortar used in this country so further growth and market penetration will be slow but sure. As an industry we’re determined to reach existing non-users and explain the many benefits of using factory-produced mortars.

The objective of converting much of the remaining 20% of the mortar market to factory-produced mortar will be a task that the MIA will embrace and drive forward.
