The Mortar Industry Association is highly active in the development of standards and has a close interest in matters facing the factory-produced mortar industry. Once a standard is published, it is obliged to undergo revision every five years, this process requires attendance and close involvement by the MIA.  European standardisation of mortars covers various areas:

• Plastering and Rendering Mortar
• External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS)
• Floor Screed Mortars
• Adhesives and Grouts for Tiles
• Concrete Repair Mortar
